Privacy Policy
Privacy and transparency come first — on this website and in the app.
Last updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Orion Store website at orionstore.net (the “Site”) handles information. Orion Store is built around privacy and transparency, and this Site is designed to reflect that.
1. The short version
This Site is a static, informational website. It does not use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or third-party analytics that fingerprint you. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information for marketing purposes. You can browse without creating an account or providing any personal details.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require you to register or log in.
- We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- We do not sell or rent any information to third parties.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
3. Information handled automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — in server logs for the purpose of delivering the Site securely and diagnosing technical problems. This data is used only to operate and protect the Site and is not used to identify you personally.
4. Local storage on your device
The Site stores a single preference in your browser's localStorage
to remember your choice of light or dark theme. This value never leaves your
device, is not shared with anyone, and can be cleared at any time through your
browser settings.
5. External links
The Site links to third-party services — including GitHub, Reddit, and the project documentation. When you follow these links you leave our Site, and the privacy practices of those services apply. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. Downloads such as the app's APK are hosted on GitHub Releases and are subject to GitHub's terms and privacy policy.
6. The Orion Store app
This policy covers the website only. The Orion Store app is designed to be transparent by design: it is fully serverless and uses no databases. Its security scanning runs locally on your device, and scan results do not leave your phone as part of that process. Because the app is fully open source, you can verify these claims in the source code and in the documentation.
7. Children's privacy
The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your rights
Because we do not collect personal information through the Site, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about your privacy or believe we hold information about you, contact us and we will respond.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
